In Sheltered to Moderate Water (as specified by BC) A minimum of: 3 x 3* Sea kayak award level paddlers or equivalent award Group must include 1 x Co-ordinator + 1 x VHF operator Recommended max group size: 10 paddlers In Advance Water (as specified by BC) Not Applicable. Uncoached/Unled groups within a Club Trip should not take place in Advanced Water conditions Participation in Club SK un-coached/unled group requires a mandatory 3* Award/Equivalent. There is no “buddying” scheme to enable less experienced paddlers in the group. A suitable trip should be found for the whole group based on experience and ability. If numbers allow, it is acceptable to divide a larger un-coached/led group into smaller groups of paddlers wishing to paddle different sections/areas. All club SK un-coached/unled group club trips are arranged on the forum and groups are based on the club members who attend that particular trip, and the factors listed above. Any unofficial groups (WhatsApp or otherwise) are used only for private trips. |
