Basin access

Here is the summary of the access to the Basin facilities for club members, as negotiated with the Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Center (SBOAC) on the 15th of October 2019.

If you need more precisions, or something outside of these guidelines, please speak to the Equipment_Officer.

Access for paddling

THURSDAY Occasional Club Night for extra training/ river paddling	Only between start of November and 3rd week in March 6.30pm – 10pm August sometimes possible (check with SBOAC)	Keys to be taken from caretaker	• Needs to be booked on the forum • In summer time SBOAC permission needed
SATURDAY Basin / River paddling	9am – 8pm	Keys from caretaker (when available) OR club keys	• Needs to be booked on the forum
SUNDAY Occasional access for river Thames paddling	Strictly before and after youth club 8am – 10am/5pm – 8pm	Club keys only	• Needs to be booked by Thursday AM latest • Intention to launch from the site needs to be stated • SBOAC permission needed
OTHER TIMES Special occasions/other club visits interfering with youth club activities	Special arrangements with SBOAC – permission needed

Access for equipment pick up/drop off

	4pm – 6.30pm	Mostly Club keys/ sometimes caretaker	• No driving onto site (Montessori school) • SBOAC permission needed
	Prior to 4pm	Club keys only	• No driving onto site • SBOAC permission needed • Might be rejected due to extensive school program
SATURDAY	Access possible all day	Keys from care taker (when available) OR Club keys	• Needs to be booked on the forum
SUNDAY	8am – 10am/5pm – 8pm During YC hours	Club keys only	• Needs to be booked on the forum • SBOAC permission needed (no changing rooms access)
OTHER TIMES	Access on other days outside above-mentioned hours may be possible when not interfering with schools/youth group program but permission must be sought from SBOAC.

ACCESS FOR PRIVATE BOATS: All club members have the same access as stated above
