*Do not seal launch boats from the pontoons.

==Whitewater boats==

After using a boat, empty out any water by turning the boat upside down and emptying out of the cockpit. You should not need to take out the bung.

Check that the bung is securely screwed into the boat before placing on the rack.

Put the boat in the rack bow first. This ensures that the bung isn’t torn out by the rack. Also it allows the equipment officers to inspect the bungs without having to remove the boat from the rack.

==Sea kayaks==

If you take a sea-kayak out at low tide and its hull gets covered in mud, please take the time to wash it down before placing back on the racks. The water tap can be found near the entrance to the workshops near the climbing wall. Recently a few (the yellow avocets, aquanauts) have been returned with a thick coating of mud which dries out and can cause damage to the skeg mechanisms.

When taking and returning sea kayaks to the racks, please follow the process:

*Taking: First flip the boat onto the hull, then slide out the boat, so not to damage the deck lines and bungee cords.
*Returning: Slide the boat in bow first, hull down. Once in place flip the boat over onto it's deck. This is to prevent damage to the deck lines, bungee cords and skegs.
