    Beginners/Improvers Weekend 1. 20/21st Sept.

    Hiya,

As promised I have organised some beginners / improvers training weekends. This is a great opportunity to hone your skills or develop new ones.

    6 places exist.

Capability : must have good boat control therefore minimum of near to passing 2*. Speak to me if you’re not sure.

As usual we will leave Friday night and return Sunday Evening .

Venue : Most likely N. [wikipedia:Wales] Depending on Water.

As per club policy there is a expenses charge of £35 per person payable to Lars to secure your place this is not refundable.

You are responsible for booking the appropriate kit and arranging for it (and you) to get to the venue. Speak to me for kit advice as by October it could be cold !

    Happy paddling.

    Mark

    Hi.

I would also like to go on this one if there is room but will understand if there is high demand for the weekends that it may only be posible to go to one of the the two. If you have space on both then I would love to come along to both. Again could you clarify what the £35 is for - accomidation? to cover cost of instructer? etc.

    Thanks

Costs etc for mark's beginner trips

Here's the skinny, or the best that i can make it.

Trips are camping based. Costs above are Mark's expences to come and coach you (v cheap - the expences, not mark).

In addition you are likely to need to pay (1) camping charges, (2) perhaps some transport costs if you lot share or hire vehicles, (3) your food, (4) all those shiny kayaking items that you see in the shops you visit on the way home[1], (5) beers etc for the coaches helping - you might want to buy them dinner cos they is ace.

[1] our tally was 1 wet suit, 1 boyancy aid, one skull cap, 4 bungs, a magazine and various other sundries. We almost bought 2 helments and new feet.

    Hi All ,

The following have given Gudrun their hard earned cash and reserved their place.

     Matt,Gary,Hannah, Tristan. (have I missed anyone .)

Therefore 2 places still exist for others who are interested.

The £35 is to cover my expenses only. Once the group is setlled then we can discuss where to stay.

I have just sent a cheque to Lars for the last place.  Can anyone give either me or my boat a lift or does anyone want to share hiring an estate car that is big enough to fit boats with the front seat down.

    Sarah
